Organizer: Maira de Cinque
Keynote: TBA
The workshop explores the tension and possible dialogue between the logic of profit and the logic of faith.
Rather than assuming that one can be reduced to the other, this workshop invites contributions that examine the irreducibility, conflict, and possible intersections between these two domains. What kind of “logic” governs profit? What kind of “logic” governs faith? And what happens when these logics intersect in human, institutional, or cultural practices?
Drawing on philosophical, theological, and interdisciplinary approaches, we aim to open a space for reflecting on how value is created, expressed, and negotiated across different forms of life.
We welcome contributions that engage with, but are not limited to, the following questions:
We particularly encourage work that engages with philosophy, logic, theology, economics, and critical theory, as well as interdisciplinary approaches.
The institutional organizer of 5th World Congress on Logic and Religion is the Logic and Religion Association.
The local Institutional Organiser is the University of Canada West, Vancouver. The event is co-organised by the Simon Fraser University.
